While the Miami race has already delivered its share of twists and turns—from spins to aggressive comebacks and ill-timed strategies—the post-race period promises to be just as lively. The stewards clearly haven't put their pens away yet.

Four cases are on the table, and they're no small matters: several of the drivers involved finished in the points. Suffice it to say that the final standings could still shift… and with them, a few tempers in the paddock.

Russell – Verstappen: A heated duel under scrutiny

First case under review: the clash between George Russell and Max Verstappen in the final laps. On lap 55, the Brit attempted an attack on the Dutchman. The result: a slight contact and a Mercedes that ended up sparking—literally.

An incident symptomatic of a race where everyone was pushing the limits, with Verstappen himself already in comeback mode after his spin at the start. The Red Bull driver, who put on an aggressive performance, could nevertheless see his result jeopardized… as he too is under scrutiny.

The four-time world champion is suspected of having crossed the white line at the pit exit after his stop. A minor detail? In Formula 1, rarely. And in such a close race, every millimeter counts.

Leclerc, a weekend to forget right to the end

But the one drawing the most attention is Charles Leclerc. Already unlucky in the race—a questionable strategy, a slow pit stop, then a spin at the end of the race—the Monegasque driver could see his Sunday get even worse.

Several investigations are targeting him:

  • for potentially gaining an off-track advantage after his slide,
  • for remaining on the track with a damaged Ferrari,
  • and for his contact with Russell at Turn 17.

A chaotic end to the race, mirroring his frustration over the radio. The timing couldn't have been worse.

Lawson – Gasly: A costly start to the race

Finally, the collision at the start between Liam Lawson and Pierre Gasly—which ended with a spectacular rollover by the Alpine driver—is also under investigation. A high-stakes incident that immediately brought out the safety car and reshuffled the strategic deck.

Verdict expected… and suspense remains

The drivers were summoned starting at 3:00 p.m. local time (9:00 p.m. in France), and decisions are expected to be announced this evening.

With several top-10 drivers involved, the penalties could have a direct impact on the final standings… and potentially on the championship dynamics.

In short, in Miami, the checkered flag may not have been the true finish line.
