After an unexpected spring break due to the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabia races, Formula 1 returns with the Miami Grand Prix.

The fourth race of the 2026 season, the Florida event also marks the second weekend featuring the Sprint format. And for European viewers, it's time to stock up on coffee: the six-hour time difference with Miami pushes the sessions into the evening.

The full weekend schedule (French time)

Day Session Schedule
Friday, May 1 Free Practice 1 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Friday, May 1 Sprint Qualifying 10:30 PM – 11:14 PM
Saturday, May 2 Sprint 6:00 PM
Saturday, May 2 Qualifying 10:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Sunday, May 3 Race 10:00 PM

Where to watch the Miami Grand Prix?

In France, Canal+ holds the broadcast rights. As usual, the entire weekend will be covered:

  • Canal+ Sport: EL1, Sprint Qualifying, and Sprint
  • Canal+: Qualifying and Grand Prix

In Belgium, RTBF (Tipik) will also broadcast the main sessions, while in Switzerland, RTS will provide coverage of the weekend.

The broadcast schedules on Tipik and RTS will follow the same live sessions, except for Free Practice and Sprint Qualifying, which will not be broadcast.

A condensed… and strategic weekend

With the Sprint format, teams will have only one practice session to find the right setup. Suffice it to say that every minute will count, especially in a rapidly evolving technical landscape.

Between tire management, energy optimization, and navigating the new rules, this Miami Grand Prix could quickly become a strategic headache.

And for fans, it's a weekend to follow… even late into the night.
