Sergio Perez won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Sunday, drawing cheers from some fans, disappointment from others, and a few tense moments.

The real story coming out of Baku isn't the lackluster race itself, but the duel brewing at the top of the standings. With Sergio Pérez now just six points behind his Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen, the championship has suddenly become a two-horse race, and the Dutch duo's usual dominance finally seems a little uncertain. This tension within the team could be the spark the season needs, especially as the rest of the field seems to be struggling to find a foothold. Ferrari, meanwhile, has finally seen a glimmer of hope. Charles Leclerc delivered a masterful performance, climbing onto the podium and reminding everyone that the Scuderia can still compete with the leaders. The battle between Mercedes, Ferrari, and Aston Martin looks set to be the next battleground, promising the kind of on-track intrigue that has been lacking so far. Alpine, however, faces a harsh reality. Neither Esteban Ocon nor Pierre Gasly managed to score points, leaving the French team well outside the top 10. The sight of a crowd of photographers invading the pit lane during Ocon's only pit stop only served to highlight the team's misfortune, and questions are already being raised about the FIA's role in this chaotic moment.

The race itself was uneventful: a single safety car period over 51 laps kept the action relatively calm. Nevertheless, this brief interruption was enough to keep the championship narrative alive. As the season progresses, fans are hoping that drama will finally catch up with speed.
