Starting at the end of 2017, Michael Schumacher's family will permanently exhibit his personal collection of motorsport memorabilia in his hometown of Kerpen.

A tribute to the legend will soon be accessible to anyone who wants to discover his story, and it won't cost a single euro. Michael Schumacher's family has confirmed that a permanent exhibition of the seven-time champion's personal memorabilia will be installed at Motorworld Köln-Rheinland in Kerpen, the driver's hometown. The collection will include the karts he drove as a teenager, the helmets that protected him on the track, and the Formula 1 cars that marked his career from 1991 to 2010.

Sabine Kehm, who was Schumacher's press officer for many years, explained that the family's main goal was to allow fans to relive the moments that made Schumacher a household name, without any barriers to entry. “The proximity of the site to Kerpen and the region's love of motorsport made it the ideal partner for this project,” she said, adding that free admission was a “deep wish” of the family.

The exhibition comes at a time when the former champion remains out of the public eye, having withdrawn from the world after a serious skiing accident in the winter of 2013. While speculation about his health continues to circulate, the family has not provided any additional information. “Honoring Michael's achievements in this way and sharing them with his fans is very important to us,” concluded Ms. Kehm.
