Since he hasn't exactly been shaking things up on the track, Max Verstappen has decided to make a visual statement. For the Miami Grand Prix, the Dutch driver will be sporting a brand-new helmet… and to say the least, it won't go unnoticed.
Accustomed to his traditional Red Bull colors, Verstappen is switching things up completely this weekend with a design dominated by pink. It's a bold choice, in keeping with Miami's “show” atmosphere… but one that clearly breaks with his usual style.
A special helmet, then, for a race that is just as special.

A unique context
This change comes at a somewhat more delicate time for the three-time world champion. Since the start of the season, Red Bull has seemed slightly behind in the pecking order, and Verstappen himself has made no secret of his reservations about the 2026 cars.
Add to that a several-week break in the calendar, and Miami arrives with its share of uncertainties: new upgrades, regulatory changes… and perhaps a new balance of power.
A detail… not so trivial
In Formula 1, special helmets are often synonymous with landmark events. And Miami, with its unique atmosphere, has become an ideal playground for this type of initiative.
For Verstappen, it's also a way to inject some freshness into a season opener that's been tougher than expected.
It remains to be seen whether this new look will bring him luck.
Because in F1, you can change colors… but it's always the lap times that speak for themselves.
