Lando Norris is enjoying a perfect start to the weekend: "The updates have really helped"
With a flawlessly executed Sprint race in Miami, Lando Norris got his weekend off to the best possible start. Starting from pole position, the McLaren driver was never under threat and led all 19 laps without any real opposition, confirming his team's rising form.
At the end of the race, the Briton expressed measured satisfaction, aware that the hardest part is yet to come. “It was a good Sprint; it feels good to be back on the top step,” Lando Norris told reporters after the finish.
On a demanding track and in sweltering heat, Norris had to stay focused from start to finish. “It was very hot, it was grueling, I was still pushing,” he explained, proof that despite a controlled race, the effort remained constant inside the cockpit.
This victory, even in Sprint format, validates the work McLaren has done in recent weeks. “The updates really helped. The car is running very well,” said the day's winner, who now hopes the balance they've found won't be altered too much for the rest of the weekend.
Realistic, Norris knows, however, that nothing is guaranteed. “It's a good start to the weekend, but we have to start over,” he reminds us, already looking ahead to qualifying tonight and the main race.
A clear message, then: McLaren has made a strong showing, but the battle has only just begun.
