In this series, listen to different personalities discuss Formula 1 and discover what attracts them to the sport.
In the first episode of FanF1, we met Antonin Bobichon, a professional soccer player for SCO Angers in Ligue 1. “Can you introduce yourself?” “Sure, my name is Antonin Bobichon, I play for SCO Angers.” “How long have you been following F1?”
“I started watching it regularly in 2016, when Rosberg won the championship. Since then, my interest has only grown: I never miss a race. If I can't watch it live on Sunday, I watch the replay as soon as possible.” “What attracts you to this sport?” ” “The breathtaking spectacle, the crazy speeds, and the enormous physical and mental demands placed on the drivers. They are true elite athletes.” “Have you ever attended a Grand Prix in person?” “Yes, I was lucky enough to attend the French Grand Prix at Le Castellet this summer. My schedule rarely allows it, but I took advantage of a day off to go.” “Which race made the biggest impression on you?” “The last Hungarian Grand Prix made a particular impression on me, especially Esteban Ocon's victory. A wet start, several incidents, and Hamilton starting alone on the second attempt… It was crazy. ” “If you could drive any F1 car, which one would you choose?” “Without hesitation, a Mercedes.” “Do you have a favorite team?” “I don't really follow any particular team, I tend to get attached to certain drivers. ” “Who is your favorite driver?” “I'm drawn to drivers who smile and enjoy themselves, like Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo. I also admire George Russell: despite setbacks, he remains calm, and his reaction when he scored his first points was priceless. And, of course, the three French-speaking drivers. ” “Have you ever driven on a racetrack? What car did you use?” “No, I've never had the opportunity, and I'm not sure I'm any good at it.” “What car do you drive on a daily basis?” “I own a Mercedes CLA 35 AMG.”
What is your dream car? A Ferrari, of course: red, classic, and powerful. Finally, do you have any predictions for the championship? I think Max Verstappen can still win his first title. He had a difficult end to the season before the break, but he has a very competitive car and is showing great determination.
