Carlos Sainz isn't harboring any unrealistic hopes for Miami. Williams is bringing updates, but their immediate impact is likely to be limited. “I don't think our position is going to change much,” the Spaniard admitted at a press conference.

For him, these new features mark above all the start of a rebuilding process. “I hope this is the beginning of our comeback this season,” he explains.

Sainz does, however, welcome the collective response to the rules. “I'm glad to see that we're all working together to improve the situation,” he emphasizes, while noting: “I don't think we've found a miracle solution.”

The weather forecast for Sunday—a high risk of thunderstorms—is causing further concern. “This will clearly be a cause for concern,” he warns, particularly due to standing water and visibility.
