The French Historic Grand Prix is scheduled to take place at the Paul Ricard circuit from June 11 to 13, just two weeks before the F1 race.
If you love classic cars, you're in for a treat. On Wednesday, March 24, the organizers of the French Grand Prix unveiled the program for the Historic French Grand Prix, a new addition to the 2021 weekend. This historic event will take place at the Castellet circuit from June 11 to 13, exactly two weeks before the modern Formula 1 race, and will feature around 70 vintage Grand Prix cars that raced from the 1950s to the early 2000s. The historic field is divided into three main categories based on the era of the cars. The Masters Historic Formula One category will feature F1 cars from the 1970s and 1980s, including examples from the legendary Ligier team that Jacques Laffite drove between 1976 and 1986. Cars from the 1960s will compete in the HGPCA category, while other single-seaters and GT cars will complete the rest of the grid. A total of 300 historic race cars will compete in 21 races over the three-day weekend.
